Project Over PressCollaborative Publication & Poster2024
Project Over Press acts as a collaboration between four RMIT design students and HumDrumPress - an established publishing house. Through our Thinking Through Making design studio, we were fortunate enough to arrange an interview with Amy Gowen and Wibke Bramesfeld, discussing their creative practice and approach to publishing. The interview conducted spanned thirty minutes and we have divided our publication into three vignettes in order to account for the three questions we were able to ask, using typographic and compositional practices to visually depict the conversation. The use of transparent pages and inserts allows us to disrupt this flow of conversation and isolate moments of importance throughout the interview, drawing attention to significant quotes and material.
Our publication binds this interview and creates a home for our conversation. 15 copies were printed on RISO for our first edition, distributed through our class with a copy being sent to HumDrumPress, for them to hold and explore on their own.

I acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Eastern Kulin nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which I design and pay respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. I also wish to acknowledge the Māori people of Tāmāki Makaurau in Aotearoa in which I grew up.
